We, the parishioners of St. Joseph Calasanctius Parish, proclaim our baptism by living our faith,
by growing in truth and love, and by sharing our talents and service, thus contributing to the peace and unity of Christ among all humankind.
Today we received the news that our Bishop, Most Rev. Stephen A. Hero, has been appointed by Pope Leo XIV as the new Metropolitan Archbishop of Edmonton. While we rejoice with him in this new call to serve, we also feel the sadness of his departure from our Diocese.
Since his ordination as Bishop of Prince Albert in 2021, Bishop Hero has walked with us in faith, hope, and love. His presence has been a blessing, and his pastoral care has touched every corner of our Diocese.
He will continue to serve as our Diocesan Administrator until his installation in Edmonton on January 23, 2026. After that, the College of Consultors will elect an Administrator until a new Bishop is appointed.
Let us keep Bishop Hero in our prayers as he prepares for this transition, and let us also pray fervently that the Lord will send us a new shepherd soon. May Our Lady, the Undoer of Knots, guide us all in this time of change.
Thank you, Bishop Hero, for your faithful witness!
